In the Dark
http://www.samhainpublishing.com/romance/in-the-dark
When you live forever, you’re bound to make a few mistakes.
Children of Night, Book 1
1969 San Francisco. World-weary Conrad Quintano should have known better than to
fall in love with a human—much less Suzanne Fischer, the barely legal,
adventure-seeking hippie beauty known as Desert Rose. And the very last thing he
should have agreed to do was to raise her babies and protect them with his life.
But even twelve-hundred-year-old master vampires can find it hard to reject a
deathbed request—especially when issues of love, guilt and blood are involved.
Present day. Raised in virtual isolation, twins Marc and Julie Fischer have
always known they are vampires. But they never knew their parentage—or their
unique status in the vampire world—until their “uncle” Damian comes to fetch
them home. The family reunion, however, isn’t what they expect. They’re thrust
into a world for which they’re totally unprepared. And the father they expected
to see, Conrad, is missing.
How to find him…and whom to trust? Solving the mystery of betrayal and vampire
family values will prove the Beatles had it right. All you need is love…and an
occasional side of blood.
Warning: While reading this book you may experience any of the following, an
increased desire to wear flowers in your hair, dress in tie-dye or nap during
the day. Other symptoms may include an intolerance to sunlight, an aversion to
garlic-flavored tofu and a pronounced urge to bake…or get baked.
Iron
http://www.liquidsilverbooks.com/books/iron.htm
Nineteenth century Ireland. Blacksmith Gavin O’Malley is a bitter man, with a
heart as hard as the iron he forges. He wants his life back—the one that was
stolen from him the day his wife died in childbirth—taking their firstborn son
with her.
When Aislinn Deirbhile, an immortal, shape-shifting fae, arrives on his
doorstep, he knows he’s in luck. For Aislinn can give Gavin everything he’s been
missing: A devoted-seeming wife in the image of his beloved Mairead, and
children who are sure to outlive their father. Now, all he has to do is find a
way to keep her—without losing his immortal soul in the process.
But Aislinn has an agenda of her own. On the run from a vengeful fae lord who’s
vowed to either make her his or end her existence, she knows the iron that
allows Gavin to take her captive will also keep her pursuers at bay. In order to
put herself permanently beyond her enemy’s reach, however, Aislinn will need
something more. She’ll need to win Gavin’s heart and convince him to willingly
part with a piece of the very soul he’s trying to save.
current project: Old Sins, Long Shadows—book two in the Children of Night
series. This is the follow up to my most recent release, In the Dark. Here's the
blurb:
Living forever is not as easy as you think and loving forever—that’s damn near
impossible for even the most committed couples.
Can an eighth century soldier really find love everlasting with a fifteenth
century courtier? For four hundred years Conrad and Damian thought the answer
was yes. Friends, lovers, life-mates, the two were inseparable until their sins
tore them apart. Now, with old secrets and new dangers threatening everything
they hold dear, can they finally put the past behind them, find the forgiveness
they so desperately seek and rekindle the love that never quite died; or will
the shadow that’s fallen between them tear their family apart as well?
Old Sins, Long Shadows is the centuries-spanning, second installment in the
Children of Night series, a very noir tale of trust, betrayal and vampire family
values which all go to prove that the Beatles very nearly had it right. All you
need is love...and an occasional side of blood.

Interview questions
How did you get your start in writing?
I've always written, but I really got serious about ten years ago. I was
intrigued by how many women of my acquaintance had experienced paranormal events
and I thought I'd love to read a series where the characters dealt with this
kind of thing.
When I couldn't find what I was looking for, I decided to write it myself. That
eventually became the Oberon series, published by SynergEbooks. Oberon has its
own website at:
Who are your biggest influences?
That tends to change, based on what series I'm working on. But Annie Dillard is
a constant.
What is your biggest inspiration when creating?
My environment—or the imaginary environment in which my story takes place.
Could you give us the details of your current project?
Old Sins, Long Shadows opens a few months after my previous book, In the Dark,
ends. The vampires of the Fischer-Quintano clan have had a lot to deal with. Now
they're all struggling to find their places within their newly expanded family
unit.
This is the second book in the series. I have five books planned. So the fun is
just getting started!
What is the next goal you would like to achieve with
your writing?
Well, even though I am completely sold on ebooks myself, I really would like to
see this series in the bookstores. For the exposure, if nothing else.
Final four (questions we ask all interviewees)
When the zombies take over the world where will you be?
Hopefully wherever my son is, since he actually thinks about this kind of thing
when choosing apartments. Myself...not so much.
Jedi, Ninja, vampire, were-wolf, pirate, fairy or
Spartan?
Uh...vampire faeries?
What one piece of art, be it music, book, film or
picture, do you think people must experience before they die?
Michelangelo's David. Hands down. But it has to be the original—the copies have
no life to them. The original is...breathtaking.
Give one fact that most people would not believe about
you?
I'm really very shy.
