Benchwarmer
Founded in early 1992, Bench Warmer created the female trading card category
with its first release of 120 cards featuring beautiful women in their favorite
sports garb. Although primitive by today's collecting standards, this premiere
edition set featured outstanding photography printed on high quality card stock
and spawned a plethora of copycat "Girl Card" competitors. In early 1994, Bench
Warmer released its "Series 2" edition, following up with a more modern look and
"Refractive Etch" insert cards which were produced from original photos of our
Bench Warmer models as they appeared in a special 1993 Sport Magazine Pull-Out.
During this time Bench Warmer went on to produce other amazing products
including calendars, posters, phone cards and finally a new 100 card packaged
series in 1997. The 1997 Bench Warmer Series was a big hit with collectors and
included major celebrities including the #1 Pin Up Model of all time, Pamela
Anderson! Inserts included Pamela Anderson "Chromium" cards and the very rare
"Refractor" Chromium Cards, which are highly sought after and extremely valuable
today. Since these early days, numerous Bench Warmer Models have gone on to
stardom after their Bench Warmer appearance including Brooke Burke, Cindy
Margolis, Gena Lee Nolin, Kiana Tom, Charisma Carpenter, Nikki Ziering and Traci
Bingham.
