Almost Arlington!
Pop Rock
Williamstown, NJ
www.myspace.com/almostarlington
I (Tom) have been in a few projects prior to Almost Arlington! The first one being a metal garage band, the next being a band called Epilogue with Justin Wiley (now of The Morning Of), another called All Purpose Hero and finally this. Eric was in a lot of plays and musical theatre
Our music will be available on ITunes but not until we finish our EP and release it.

How did you get your start in music?
My stepdad Donnie bought me my first guitar when I was third grade. I remember hearing Metallica's Fade To Black for the first time and just thinking "God, I need to learn how to do this." I studied modern rock guitar for two years before quitting and picking up piano for another year. Then when I was in eighth grade I started playing and experimenting with virtually every instrument I've ever seen eventually leading me to start writing music. I would say my first start was in my first band that gigged, Epilogue, and was absolutely terrible. I kept pushing and pushing until I "perfected" my craft. It took some time with a lot of help of supporters around me but I am finally confident in what I have to bring to the table.

who are your biggest musical influences?

Hands down, my four biggest influences musically are Metallica, Pink Floyd, Keith Urban and The Starting Line. All of those bands dropped my jaw to the floor whenever I heard them. Their usage of layers and song writing absolutely blow me away and I've seen many of these groups live multiple times.

What is your biggest inspiration when creating music?

Honestly, life experience and layers. If the song is about something personal that I've been through I pour everything I have into it and then some. I am a huge fan of layering instruments and orchestrating a classical piece over it. This probably leads mostly to my influence from Pink Floyd and Metallica's S&M album with Michael Kamen. Orchestration always seems to allow a song to breathe more so I tend to layer and layer it and then play with the mix in pro tools to find which layers compliment the song really well.

Could you give us the details of your current project.
The current project that Eric and I are working is a double EP called Learning To Love Act I and Act II. Its a story about a journey that I went through trying to find love through failed relationships, new relationships, losing a passion of mine (music), finding it again and life experiences. The thing about love is interesting, you have to learn from bad and good experiences to truly learn its power.

What is the next goal you would like to achieve with your music?

I really want to sign a record contract and distribute my music throughout the world and tour heavily. My biggest goal with music is just to inspire people. Its the greatest feeling in the world knowing that you have helped somebody.

final four

When the zombies take over the world where will you be?

With the S.T.A.R.S unit shootin' their asses!

Jedi, Ninja, vampire, were-wolf, pirate, fairy or Spartan?
Jedi all the way.

What one piece of art, be it music, book, film or picture, do you think people must experience before they die?

hmmm... As far as films go I would say The Last Samaurai... Music goes I would say Pink Floyd's The Wall, books I would say Tuesdays With Morrie

Give one fact that most people would not believe about you?

I am an NSync and Limp Bizkit fan.
