Atlanta, GA - Three classically trained siblings performing original
alt-rock songs with a jazz/classical influence and female vocals, an electric
cello and violin, a keyboard, an electric bass and guitar, with electronic and
acoustic drums lives. Start with rock n' roll, throw in jazz, world and a touch
of classical, add catchy lyrics, grabbing melodies and full chords, and that's
KChari - the Atlanta-based group with a style all its own. KChari is set to
release their debut full-length CD titled "Out of Line" with a kick-off release
party at Andrews Upstairs, 56 East Andrews, Suite #13 in Atlanta, Georgia on
Wednesday, May 9th. The party begins at 8PM. Doors open at 7:30PM. Admission; $5
"Out of Line" was recorded at Smith and Huston Productions over the course of a
year and mastered at Rodney Mills' Masterhouse in Atlanta. Drums and bass were
recorded at Creekside Station in Lawrenceville, GA. All songs are written and
performed by the sibling trio - Joshua, Sarah and Miriam KChari. Atlanta music
industry elitist Jan Smith executive produced the CD, and also provided
pre-production assistance and vocal coaching. "You might not think an album
would take one year to record," remarks Joshua KChari, "But this was also a
learning experience for us as we highly valued Jan Smith and her music industry
expertise, heeding her advice."
Sarah, Miriam, and Joshua KChari are full time, professional performing
musicians and music teachers. They have held long-term, music education
contracts with the leading music schools in North Atlanta including Music and
Arts, The Woodruff School of the Arts, and the Apollo School of Music. They also
own their very own music school - Tri-Tone. All three studied at the prestigious
Cleveland Institute of Music and relocated to the Roswell area in North Atlanta.
KChari's original musical style is tough to pinpoint. Fans of KChari's music
include indie rock-oriented college students, die-hard alternative rock high
school students, classical music listeners and jazz-inclined professionals. The
music defies an easy label and speaks directly to the soul in an honest, melodic
and powerful manner.
